Dear son .. (Letter from mom)

Date: 19th October 2010 (you are about 18.5 months old)
Time: 12:15 PM (You slept about 15 mins ago)
Location: In the living room couch (You are sleeping on my bed)
Situation: I am expressing my heart out, so that one day when you are around 30 and I slap you HARD, you'll know why :)

Dear Son,

I love you so much! You are my sunshine, you are my moonlight, you are my autumn and you are my summer! I love you so much, it makes your dad go mad!

Your cute little tiny feet and fingers make my world go round and round .. yes round and round - running behind you is like my favorite sport in the world! Just don't bang into my head as often as you do now!

Your sweet little words (which by the way, I still don't get) make me want to listen to you all day - No, I really do! When I say SHUT UP, Its my excitement, nothing else - Believe me! I love you !!

Your tiny toys make such melodic sounds and give you so much joy while you bang them against the wall... I just hope I don't crush them accidentally, honey!

Why do you cry so much baby? It tears my heart apart to see you cry. You cry when you want something, You cry when you don't! You cry when you are happy, and you cry when you are sad! You cry to make me cry and I don't understand why?

You, my darling are my world! So what if my world is now just your food, toys, swings, car seats, bottles, diapers, clothes, your tantrums, Tom & Jerry (How could I forget?!), your silly words - you ROCK my world!

Just a few things I wanted to say before I wrap my first letter to you :) (And I do sincerely hope that there arent more to follow)

Please -
-Dont bang my iphone against the wall or stand on it or scratch it against the floor
-Dont sketch on our sofa (We just bought it!!!)
-Dont ride your bike like its a bull, you will definitely fall!
-Dont bite my legs, hands, cheeks, toes, eyes, ears, nose without notice. Give me a little time to prepare.
-Dont hide the remotes in places we cant find them.
-Dont pull out all the DVDs from the closet EVERY SINGLE DAY
-Dont pour the water all over the carpet, its for you to DRINK!
-Dont turn off the only switch which runs the internet, telephone, cable connection in our house.
-Dont lick the shoes
-Dont run around the house when I am trying to dress you
-Dont lock yourself in the bedroom and start crying
-Dont sleep on the Kitchen rug - its not meant for you.
-Dont call dad "Amma"
-Dont get stuck under the dining table chair
-Dont slap me on my face if I dont hear what you said, the first time

I still love you ...

Love,
Mom

PS - right now, you have woken up and have managed to pull the laptop screen to 180 degrees, before it goes any futher....

I'm back!

What’s up guys? (Hi five) I recently turned 1 – ya ya, I’ve heard it all before! Turning 1 means getting responsible, being more disciplined, no more crying – blah blah blah! Mom yaps about that all day; don’t need it from you folks!

I had a big birthday party recently. One word to describe it – BORRINNNNNNNNNNNNNG!

  • Come on, now! What will I do with a 10 pound cake when all I got was a lick! (Btw, I gotto admit the Krishna looked cute! But, whatever!)
  • I liked all the balloons in the room, so much fun – but too many kids and all their yelling made it unenjoyably boring!
  • So much for dressing me like Krishna – I had to be in a room full of people with NO SHIRT! Can you believe how embarrassing that was?? (Not just the ppl in the room, mom put that pics on FB!! )
  • There were a lot of Radhas – I liked them all! I was trying to act pricey, hence the weird expression in the pics! Don’t want to give them too much attention, you see ;)
  • Paper dance?!!? Who invented this game? Mom, dad, shweta , Prasad and even ammamma (grandma) and tatha(grandpa) were busy grabbing each other with an excuse of the game! Cheeeeeesy!
  • Hey!!!!! I almost forgot! Did you see mini-me? That dude looked damn cool! And he was the only one who could understand what I was going through – after all he’s mini-me! Thanks ma, good thinking!
  • WII for adults! What happened to playing “nursery rhymes / cartoons” on kid’s birthday party! Ahh, yes! Adults will get bored! Do I care? NO!
  • I have to admit I loved all the gifts I got from different people! Toy remote, toy car, toy laptop, and a lot of other toys. Good that I have all this, I can now hide all the actual stuff (which is what I do right now)

All in all, it was fun (for mom and dad) and extremely tiring for me! Yawnnnnnnnn
